Latin Soul Songstress Ambar Lucid releases EP “Get Lost In The Music” and makes TV debut on Netflix’s “Elite”

June 18, 2021 – Newcomer Ambar Lucid defies the norms. The Dominican-Mexican singer has been at the forefront of the new wave of indie Latinx artists in America and has no plans to slow down. Today Ambar unveils their highly anticipated EP Get Lost In The Music. Ambar’s eclectic sound and dynamic lyrics take their listeners back into their own dimension again and again. The bewitching “Un Animal (Divina Existencia)” leads the way with a lively, acid-washed visualizer that embraces the journey inward – watch it here. The EP Get Lost In The Music further solidifies Ambar as a trendsetter in Latinx-style pop music and sets the stage for future releases.

In addition, Ambar celebrates her first TV appearance on the critically acclaimed Netflix series Elite, in which she demonstrates her newfound acting skills and plays two original tracks, “Fantasmas” + “Questioning My Mind”.

The EP follows their latest single “Get Lost In The Music,” a retro-inspired song paired with a kaleidoscopic video that continues Ambar’s spiritual musical journey while showing off her Hispanic pride – look here. Inspired by Ambar’s own passion for astrology and reading tarot cards, the video is riddled with Hispanic staples, including lotería-style cards closely resembling her, Vaquero-inspired outfits, and a woman with makeup in the Dia de Los Muertos style is decorated. The 20-year-old’s lyrics also manage to switch effortlessly between Spanish and English if it suits their mood or composition – effectively painting a picture of their culture and upbringing. Her highly acclaimed single “A Letter to My Younger Me” serves as an evaluation of the effects of her father’s deportation and has accumulated over 19 million streams. In addition, Ambar released a documentary about the reunion of her and her father named Llegaron las Flores – look here.

Get Lost In The Music is a hymn to let go of all the negatives of the past year and get lost in the music.

Ambar grew up near New Jersey and spent her childhood dreaming of a better future, singing for her Abuela and taking refuge with pop artists such as Kali Uchis, Lady Gaga, Kesha and Selena Gomez. Her dreams finally came true when she soon realized that music was and could be her destiny. As an ambitious and versatile artist, she developed into a self-taught ukulele, piano and guitarist. With her new skills through Youtube and her dream of becoming an artist, she started uploading her music to Soundcloud. There, her superior mastery of music and its components naturally drew a large and passionate following that would eventually add to nearly 4 million views on Youtube.

On the mission to touch as many souls as possible, Ambar uses her music to manifest radical self-love and empowerment. In her own words: “I heal our generation trauma.” With 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and over 50,000 followers on social media, Ambar continues to do just that. Acclaimed by renowned media outlets such as Pitchfork, The Fader, NME, Complex, to name a few, Ambar is a real highlight and will be included in the Fender Next Class of 2021. With Ambar, the future is as free flowing and unpredictable as it is – keep an eye out for surprise gigs this summer.
